Best Door Knocking Software for Home Service Teams (2026)
By Makayla Schultheis

Door-knocking is one of the oldest tactics for home service providers to generate new business — and it still works. The solutions built around it have evolved into two distinct categories, though:
Physical door-knocking software. These solutions help you manage reps who are out in the field, literally knocking on doors. You assign territories, optimize routes, drop pins to mark the houses you’ve knocked, and log outcomes at each door. Some pull in basic property data (like home value and ownership status), so reps have context at the doorstep.
Digital door-knocking software. This solution is the digital equivalent of physical door-knocking. Instead of sending reps to doors, you're reaching homeowners directly via SMS and email. You can target specific neighborhoods and blast out to hundreds of homeowners at once. One person can reach 500 homeowners in under 10 minutes.
Both create the same solution to the problem of generating leads in a specific area. Which one fits depends on how you'd rather reach those homeowners: in person, or through digital channels that allow scale.
This guide covers both. But we start with GlassHouse — the only outbound sales software for the trades — because it's where we've seen home service businesses generate the most pipeline with the least headcount.
Digital Door Knocking Software: GlassHouse

GlassHouse is the one and only digital door-knocking software built exclusively for home service and trades businesses.
We founded GlassHouse after spending time with home service pros and hearing the same frustration: door knocking works well, but it doesn't scale.
It requires a ton of resources and has always been limited by how many people you can put on the ground, how many homes they can physically reach, and how many homeowners will actually be around to answer the door.
It’s also difficult to get ahead during trigger events, for example, when there’s a storm or pest outbreak, because you’re stuck scrambling to get boots on the ground ASAP and those boots can only get you so far.
The physical door-knocking apps help manage the effort to some degree, but they don't solve the underlying problems here. Nobody had built a system that actually solved for those limitations. So that’s what we did.
Our platform lets you reach hundreds of homeowners across your market, either around your existing customers or the neighborhoods you want to get into. And it’s super simple. You just open a map of any U.S. territory, draw a shape around a neighborhood you want to target, pull the homeowner contact data (like names, mobile numbers, email addresses, and property details), and message those homeowners directly via text messaging and email.
It’s door-knocking at a scale that no physical canvassing team can match. There's no ceiling on how many homeowners you can reach.
We also cover you on the legal side of your outreach with built-in compliance. We handle 10DLC registration, exclude homeowners from the Do Not Call (DNC) and TCPA litigator lists, and only allow you to schedule out messages during approved hours. You reach the right people at the right times, and your messages are sent from a local 10-digit number registered to your business.
Contractors using GlassHouse reach hundreds of homeowners with a single campaign, without pulling a rep off a jobsite. If you still have field reps doing physical door knocking, GlassHouse makes their efforts more effective — it's a way to build rapport with homeowners before anyone knocks, so by the time a rep shows up, it's already a warm conversation.
How It Works
Here’s how the workflow actually looks in our system:
Open the territory map and draw a shape around the neighborhood you want to hit. You can switch to satellite view to get a better look at the types of properties you're targeting. The map also helps by displaying pins for prospects, clients, and upcoming jobs, so you can see where you've already established a presence and double down in those areas or expand elsewhere.

Filter by property criteria. You can choose categories like home age, value, lot or home size, last sale, or whatever makes sense for your business. This allows you to segment areas even further making sure you are only pulling contacts you want to reach.
Reveal the contact list. We source and scrub data from multiple providers so it's up to date, with a 76% accuracy rate.
Build your campaign. We provide a variety of conversion-optimized templates to get you started, and our team can help refine messaging for your brand. A typical opener: "Hi [Name], we just finished a full exterior repaint on [Street] and are offering neighbors a free quote while our crew is still in the area. Interested? Reply YES."

Schedule and launch!
Typically, you only need 1 to 2 hours a week to plan, build, and schedule campaigns. Most teams have a dedicated person overseeing the workflow, but you can add as many users as you like and divide responsibilities however works best for your team. If you'd rather take it completely off your plate, we also offer a done-for-you management service. We'll find the right contacts, build your campaigns, and schedule them for you.
Once your campaign is live, the platform sends real-time alerts when homeowners respond.
From there, you can choose how to manage replies: handle conversations directly, or let our AI autoresponder, Ask Jackie, keep things moving and book appointments for you. Our system stores the full conversation thread so you can jump in and pick up at any point.
Hot leads automatically surface in your dashboard, allowing you to track their status from first response to booked appointment.

GlassHouse also pushes your leads directly to your CRM/FSM through automation and integration. This helps you track attribution so you can see which contacts you touched in GlassHouse that later reached out through a different channel (like homeowners who Googled you and called in after getting your text) to get a fuller picture of how your outreach is actually performing.
How to Get Started
GlassHouse works as a standalone outbound solution or alongside your existing physical door-knocking efforts. A lot of our customers run both — digital first, so by the time a rep knocks, the homeowner already knows who you are.
Pricing is structured around a platform fee plus credits:
The platform fee is $299/month (billed annually). It includes unlimited users, free onboarding, and ongoing support.
Credits are 3¢ each. You purchase these in bundles. One credit reveals a homeowner's contact data; three credits sends an outbound SMS.
You can also add email outreach for $250/month. The Warm Email package includes 7.5k monthly email bundles, drip campaigns, copy creation, domain protection, AI email warmup, and a unified inbox.
At typical usage levels, you're reaching about 3k homeowners per month at $35 to $75 per lead. And for most home service businesses, a single closed job covers the full annual platform cost.

Note: You may also come across Digital Door Knockers in your search for door-knocking software. They're a digital marketing agency using this same approach, not a software platform. While they can run digital door-knocking campaigns on your behalf, their services extend beyond outreach to include search engine optimization, social media marketing, and paid advertising. If you're looking for a full-service marketing partner, that may be a good fit. But if you simply need a dedicated door-knocking tool, their services are likely more than you need, and agency pricing reflects that. |
Physical Door-Knocking Apps
The tools below are all meant to assist in managing physical door-knocking efforts. As mentioned above, they have tools to help map territories, plan routes, keep track of the houses you’ve knocked, and manage contacts. But they don't help you reach homeowners before a rep shows up — that's not what they were built for.
SalesRabbit

SalesRabbit is the most widely known door-to-door sales software in the industry, with 85k+ active users across roofing, solar, pest control, and home security.
It covers all the core criteria well — territory assignment, route optimization, lead status tracking, and rep GPS monitoring are all built in. Where it stands out is in data quality: the DataGrid AI add-on pulls machine-learning buyer propensity scores, homeowner info, and property details directly onto the map before reps knock. It also integrates with major CRMs and includes digital contracts for doorstep closings.
SalesRabbit offers a free Lite version that’s good for individual reps — though it's limited (it doesn’t include homeowner data, team management, or analytics). To unlock the full platform, you're looking at paid plans that can add up quickly once you layer in the data, weather, and gamification add-ons.

SalesRabbit Team ($59/user/month) includes advanced canvassing, route plans, rep location tracking, digital sales tools, built-in sketch boards, and analytics.
SalesRabbit Pro ($75/user/month) expands on the Team plan with custom fields, map overlays, customer locators, lead file attachments, gamification features, schedulers for setters and closers, integrations, and API access.
SalesRabbit Enterprise (custom quotes) offers full-feature access and includes custom SLAs, advanced security options such as SSO, and coaching from a SalesRabbit rep.
SPOTIO

SPOTIO is an enterprise field sales platform built for larger organizations that need advanced manager controls, security features, and CRM connectivity.
It handles territory management, route optimization, lead tracking, and is really strong on the rep management side — GPS tracking, performance benchmarks, sales coaching tools, and leaderboards give managers a level of oversight you won't find in most canvassing apps. It also has one of the most convenient CRM integrations in this category, with bidirectional sync for Salesforce and HubSpot. Plus, the HailTrace integration pulls storm damage data directly onto the territory map, which is a perk for roofing and storm restoration teams.
However, as an enterprise software, SPOTIO is often overkill for smaller teams. It's built for organizations running multiple regional teams. And it has a fairly steep learning curve; setting it up and training your crew can be a significant time investment.

Knockbase

Now, the next system on our list, Knockbase, is a little more appropriate for the smaller teams who like what SPOTIO offers but want something simpler to get up and running.
Knockbase is purpose-built for home services canvassing teams. Like SPOTIO, it offers territory mapping, route planning, lead capture, rep management, gamification features (like leaderboards and performance challenges), a HailTrace integration for storm restoration, and a built-in sales commission calculator. Users also like that Knockbase offers multi-device support, with apps for iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac.
Unlike SPOTIO, it’s not super complex to implement or learn. It’s leaner, easier to get up and running, and doesn't carry the enterprise overhead that makes SPOTIO a heavier lift for smaller crews.
However, Knockbase is newer than competitors in this category, and it doesn’t have a lot of published reviews on G2 or Capterra, so it’s harder to gauge actual experiences and long-term reliability.
At the time of publishing, Knockbase has no published reviews on G2 or Capterra.

Knockio

Knockio is one of the more complete platforms in this category — it covers the full workflow from canvassing all the way through to invoicing and payments, which sets it apart from most straight-up canvassing apps.
You get all the core physical door-knocking features you'd expect here, like territory management, route mapping, lead tracking, and rep GPS monitoring, plus native CRM integrations and Zapier to connect it to your existing stack.
Once a lead converts, Knockio lets you send proposals, collect e-signatures, issue invoices, and track payments all within the same platform. This is definitely appealing for teams that want to consolidate their field sales and job management into one tool.
Another thing worth calling out here: Knockio seems to lend itself to some digital door-knocking with its Engage Messaging add-on. This supports unlimited calls and SMS for leads already in your CRM. You can’t reach new homeowners in the way GlassHouse lets you, but you can digitally door-knock the leads and customers you already own.
The one potential downside here is a learning curve. It packs in more tools than other platforms, so it may take a little longer to get set up and train reps.

Ecanvasser

Ecanvasser started as a political canvassing platform and has since expanded into the home services realm, working with solar, pest control, and home improvement companies. The platform covers essential door-to-door canvassing tools, including territory mapping, route optimization, lead capture, and appointment scheduling.
Territory management is a strong suit here — you can filter target areas by property type and homeowner status, use time-bound lists to control who works which leads and when, and upload existing customer data to the map so reps can identify upsell opportunities (like offering maintenance plans or additional services) while already working an area.
A lot of users also call out the route optimization as a key strength: it supports up to 200 stops per route, which is more than other platforms.
On the rep management side, you get real-time GPS tracking, performance dashboards, and leaderboards. Managers can verify rep locations with GPS data and monitor interactions as they happen.
The mobile app lets reps log interactions, collect e-signatures, and book follow-up appointments at the door — and it works offline, so reps in areas with spotty coverage aren't stuck waiting on a connection. Everything syncs automatically when they're back online.
It also connects with most CRM systems via native integrations and Zapier, so lead data flows through to wherever your team manages the pipeline.
However, Ecanvasser wasn’t originally purpose-built for home services the way others in our list are. It’s still a fine and capable solution, but it's worth knowing that home services isn’t its core focus. It's also on the pricier end compared to the other options on this list.

Alternative Physical Door Knocking Apps You May See in Your Search
The tools below didn't make our main list — either because they're missing features that home service teams need, they go well beyond door-knocking into full field service management, or they're built for a different audience entirely. But they're names you'll likely come across when comparing door-knocking software, so here's a quick rundown.
D2D CRM — A free, field-sales-focused canvassing app built by D2D reps. It covers the core bases (territory mapping, route optimization, lead tracking) but lacks the rep management tools and analytics that growing home service teams typically need.
Find more D2D CRM reviews here.Badger Maps — Primarily a route planning and CRM mapping tool for outside sales reps visiting existing accounts. It's not really built for cold-door canvassing, so if your team is knocking new doors in unfamiliar neighborhoods, the tools above are a better fit.
Find more Badger Maps reviews here.Field Servicely — Full field service management, not just door knocking. If you need scheduling, dispatching, and invoicing alongside canvassing, it's worth a look — but for teams that just need a solid door-knocking app, it's more than you need.
Find more Field Servicely reviews here.KnockWise — A door-knocking app built specifically for real estate agents, with MLS and homeowner title data baked in. Not designed for home service or trades businesses.

How to Evaluate Door-Knocking Software
The criteria here will depend on the type of solution you're looking for.
For digital door knocking:
Data quality — Does it pull homeowner contact info, such as mobile numbers and email addresses?
Scale — Are there limits to how many homeowners you can reach per month? Does the platform cap messages? And practically speaking, how much time does it take to manage? Can one person run it, or does scaling mean adding people and hours?
Compliance — Is DNC scrubbing and TCPA compliance built into the platform, or are you left on your own to manage that?
Campaign tools — Does it support SMS and email templates, scheduling, and multi-step sequencing?
Automation — Is there an AI autoresponder to handle replies and route hot leads without someone having to manage everything manually?
CRM integrations — Does it automatically push engaged leads into your sales pipeline?
For physical door-knocking apps:
Territory mapping — Can you assign neighborhoods, track coverage, and avoid re-knocking the same doors?
Route optimization — Does it plan the most efficient path between leads?
Lead tracking & status — Can you log outcomes, notes, and follow-up tasks per door?
Rep management & GPS tracking — Can managers see where reps are in real time and monitor activity?
Data quality — Does it surface homeowner contact details or just property-level details?
CRM integrations — Does it connect to your existing sales stack?
The Physical vs. Digital Door-Knocking Breakdown
Physical Door-Knocking Apps | Digital Door-Knocking Apps (GlassHouse) | |
Who It’s For | Teams with field reps | Any home service business |
Scale | Limited by headcount — more coverage means more people on the ground | One person, entire territory |
Timing | When reps are deployed | Reach homeowners anytime (within approved sending hours) |
Contact Data | Property-level details like home value and ownership status (owner vs. renter) | Homeowner and property-level details — homeowner name, mobile number, email, home value, home size, lot size, home age, last sale date |
Compliance | N/A | DNC + TCPA litigator list scrubbed automatically; compliant sending hours enforced |
Cost | $0 to $99+ per month — though labor costs are the real expense (you're paying for rep time, not just software) | $299/month (billed annually) + 3¢/credit |
Choosing the Right Door-Knocking Strategy & Software
If you have field reps doing physical door knocking, the tools we highlighted here will help you manage that operation more effectively. But there's always going to be a ceiling on what physical canvassing can do.
Digital door knocking removes constraints. One person can reach hundreds of homeowners in a single campaign, target any neighborhood on a map, and do it on a schedule that doesn't depend on rep availability or homeowners being around. And for most home service businesses, the two approaches work better together than either does alone.
If you're ready to see what that looks like in practice, book a free demo with GlassHouse. We'll walk you through the platform and help you build the right door-knocking strategy.
