Sales Canvassing Software for Pest Control

Sales canvassing software helps pest control companies manage their door-to-door sales teams. It lets managers assign territories; plan routes and track which doors have been knocked; and it lets reps book appointments and sign customers at the door. The goal is a more productive team: reps spend less time driving and doing paperwork, so they can knock on more doors and close more deals each day. That's why choosing the right software matters.

But there's a limit to how far canvassing can take your growth, for two reasons. First, even the most efficient rep can only knock so many doors in a day, so reaching more homes eventually means hiring more reps. Second, most homeowners haven't heard of your company when a rep knocks, which makes those doors harder to close.

In this post, we cover:

  • What to look for in sales canvassing software to help your team be as productive as possible, plus five options pest control companies commonly use

  • How outbound marketing software like GlassHouse, our digital door knocking software, lets you text homeowners before, or instead of, a knock, so you can reach more homes and lower your cost per lead

About GlassHouse: GlassHouse helps pest control companies reach homeowners before their reps knock. You can text homeowners in the neighborhoods around your recent treatments, or in areas you want to break into, so your reps show up at doors that have already heard of your business. This helps your company generate more leads at lower cost. For example, one Mosquito Joe franchise used GlassHouse to generate 144 leads at $47 each. Schedule a free demo today.

What pest control companies should look for in sales canvassing software

Canvassing tools vary widely in what they offer, so it helps to know which features matter most for pest control sales teams. Here are the main factors to consider:

  • Territory mapping and assignment: You want to be able to draw zones, assign them to reps, stop two reps working the same street, and see which homes have been hit.

  • Seasonal rep onboarding: Many pest control companies that sell door-to-door hire sales reps for the summer season. For those teams, easy-to-learn apps and built-in training can help when headcount changes from season to season.

  • Gamification and leaderboards: PestPac notes that real-time leaderboards "tap into the natural competitiveness that drives strong D2D reps." Rankings that update as sales come in keep that competition active.

  • Contracts and e-signature at the door: When a homeowner agrees to service, reps can have them sign a recurring service agreement on the spot, with no follow-up visit or call. Signing right away can also shorten the time to first service. FieldRoutes, for example, says its app lets companies "get contracts signed and start servicing on the same day."

  • FSM integration: After a rep signs a customer at the door, the office still has to schedule the first treatment and set up recurring billing. If the canvassing app doesn't connect to the software your service team uses, someone has to re-enter the account by hand. That slows down the first service and makes errors more likely, such as a wrong address or plan.

  • Lead scoring and homeowner data: Reps can only knock so many doors in a day, so it helps to know which homes are most likely to buy. Some canvassing software scores homes or areas using property data like home value, lot size, and recent sales, so reps can focus on households that match your best customers.

  • Appointment scheduling: Many homeowners won't commit to service on the first visit, and some want an inspection first. Software that lets reps book inspections or first treatments from the doorstep, and syncs them to the team's calendar, helps keep interested homeowners from going cold.

  • Compliance: Door-to-door rules vary by city, and some areas require solicitation permits or keep no-knock lists. Tools that mark do-not-knock addresses, log consent, and generate contracts with the required cancellation notice can help reps avoid fines and complaints.

  • Performance analytics: Metrics like doors knocked, contact rate, close rate, and revenue per rep show managers which reps and territories are producing results. That makes it easier to coach reps, reassign territories, and forecast sales during the season.

Tools differ in which of these features they include, so it helps to decide which ones matter most for your team before comparing options.

5 sales canvassing software options for pest control companies

Below, we cover five canvassing tools that pest control companies commonly use:

  1. FieldRoutes

  2. SalesRabbit

  3. SPOTIO

  4. KnockBase

  5. Ecanvasser

This isn't an exhaustive list. Each tool has different strengths, and we've described them as objectively as possible using information from each company's website. Features and pricing are current as of October 2026 and may change.

1. FieldRoutes

FieldRoutes homepage: Field service management software that fuels growth, and helps you scale.

FieldRoutes is field service management (FSM) software built for pest control and lawn care companies. Its mobile app includes sales tools for door-to-door reps. Those sales tools sit in the same platform as scheduling, routing, and billing, so an account a rep signs at the door goes straight into the company's customer records without being re-entered in a separate system.

For territory management, managers can assign reps to multiple territories and block off "no knock" zones from the app. Reps work from a sales map that shows existing customers as stars and knocked houses as pins. Before pitching, they can pull up a homeowner's past cancellation reasons or current subscriptions. At the door, reps can build quotes, including home diagrams for termite and wood-destroying organism (WDO) services. They can also collect digital signatures on contracts, take payment, and schedule the first service.

For managers, FieldRoutes offers a sales dashboard and a leaderboard that ranks reps by day, month, and year. It tracks metrics such as doors knocked, pitches to sale, and total sales.

Pricing is quote-based and scales with the number of active customers rather than the number of users, which can make it easier to add seasonal reps. FieldRoutes' website doesn't describe lead scoring, third-party homeowner data, or solicitation-permit tracking, so companies that need those features may use a second tool alongside it.

FieldRoutes also integrates with GlassHouse. The integration pulls customer records from FieldRoutes into GlassHouse, so companies can keep existing customers out of their outbound text campaigns and pull past customers into GlassHouse for seasonal reactivation campaigns.

2. SalesRabbit

SalesRabbit homepage: The Definitive Field Sales Management Platform

SalesRabbit is field sales software for door-to-door teams in industries like pest control, roofing, and solar. It has a dedicated pest control offering. Its territory mapping tools let managers draw custom areas on a map, assign them to reps, and track each rep's progress through an area. Managers can also review past canvassing results for an area, which helps them follow up on missed leads and see which reps have worked it before. Reps can use route planning to cut travel time between doors.

For lead prioritization, SalesRabbit offers DataGrid AI as a paid add-on. DataGrid uses machine learning to give homes and areas "Buyer Scores," so reps can focus on households more likely to buy. A separate Mover Leads add-on flags new homeowners, and a Weather add-on shows weather data. Reps can close at the door with the Digital Contracts add-on, which includes a form builder and mobile e-signature. On the Pro and Enterprise plans, a built-in scheduler with calendar integration lets reps book appointments on the spot.

SalesRabbit integrates with PestPac and ServicePro, along with general CRMs like Salesforce and HubSpot. FieldRoutes isn't on its integrations list.

For managing seasonal teams, SalesRabbit includes Learn, a library of training modules and industry courses that reps can take on their phones.

All plans include dashboards, leaderboards, and reports. The Pro and Enterprise plans add gamification features such as competitions, battles, achievements, and a rewards store.

3. SPOTIO

SPOTIO homepage: The AI-Powered Field Sales Execution Platform

SPOTIO is field sales software for door-to-door teams, with a plan built for home services and other high-volume, quick-close sales, even though its door-to-door page doesn't list pest control by name.

Managers can create territories, assign them to reps, and plan optimized routes. Reps log activity with one tap on a map that shows which homes have been visited, which are untouched, and which need a callback. When no one answers, reps can schedule a follow-up or add the home to a future route. SPOTIO also lets teams filter out "Do Not Knock" addresses, and it verifies rep locations when activity is logged.

For lead prioritization, SPOTIO provides homeowner data and tools to qualify and prioritize prospects. Its Lead Machine add-on filters prospects. Reps can close at the door with the E-Contracts add-on for digital signing, and appointments sync with Google or Outlook calendars.

SPOTIO integrates with Salesforce, HubSpot, AccuLynx, and HailTrace. Its website doesn't name pest control FSM integrations such as FieldRoutes or PestPac.

For managing reps, all SPOTIO plans include team leaderboards, performance dashboards, and access to SPOTIO University, its training library. SPOTIO's custom plan adds more gamification features. Pricing is per user but isn't published. SPOTIO requires a minimum of five users, doesn't offer a free trial, and sets up demos or pilot programs on request.

4. KnockBase

Knockbase homepage: Gamified Door-to-Door Sales Software

KnockBase is canvassing software for door-to-door sales teams, with a dedicated page for pest control. Managers can build custom territories by zip code, neighborhood, or street segment, assign zones to reps, and balance workloads across the team. Each knock and interaction is logged with a GPS location, so managers can see which doors have been worked.

The pest control page says reps can view a homeowner's past pest treatment history and book inspections or treatments from the field. KnockBase can score leads automatically using criteria like interaction outcome or proximity to service zones.

For managing reps, KnockBase includes gamified leaderboards that rank reps by knock count, lead conversions, or pipeline progress. It also has a commission calculator that shows reps what they've earned in real time. Dashboards and exportable reports track knocks, conversion rate, lead capture, and follow-up outcomes. The app also works offline and syncs data once reps reconnect.

KnockBase's pest control page mentions compliance tracking, including consent logging. Its website says leads and appointment data sync to CRMs but doesn't name specific pest control FSM integrations such as FieldRoutes or PestPac. KnockBase doesn't publish pricing; demos are booked through its website.

5. Ecanvasser

Ecanvasser homepage: Stop guessing what your field team is doing

Ecanvasser is canvassing software for door-to-door and field sales teams, with a dedicated page for pest control. Managers can create targeted lists for specific neighborhoods, map territories, and sync planned routes to reps' phones. Reps capture lead details and notes at each door and can book follow-up appointments on the spot. The app works offline when reps lose signal. Managers can track door visits, leads captured, and follow-ups, and on the Pro plan they can see rep locations and activity in real time.

For lead prioritization, Ecanvasser's pest control page lists verified US homeowner data as a key capability, and its pricing page lists lead prospecting as a paid add-on. For managers, all plans include dashboards and a team scoreboard, with reporting by rep, team, or territory. Ecanvasser syncs with CRM systems through pre-built integrations and an API, though its pest control page doesn't name specific pest control FSM integrations. Its website also doesn't describe e-signature contracts.

Ecanvasser's pricing is based on the size of a company's contact database, not the number of users. All plans include unlimited users and teams, which fits companies whose headcount changes from season to season.

These tools can help your reps work more efficiently. But as we covered at the start, canvassing has limits that traditional software can't fully solve. Below, we look at how outbound texting can work alongside your canvassing software to reach more homeowners and lower your cost per lead.

How outbound texting with GlassHouse can support your canvassing team

The best sales canvassing software can't fully solve two key problems:

  • Reach: Even with optimized routes, each rep can only knock so many doors in a day, and not every homeowner will be home when they do. Some neighborhoods are also harder to canvass, since certain cities require solicitation permits or restrict door-to-door sales.

  • Cold doors: Lead scoring can help reps pick better homes, but the homeowner answering the door is often hearing from you for the first time. That's especially true in new neighborhoods, where reps can't point to nearby customers to build trust.

That's why we built GlassHouse, our digital door-knocking software. GlassHouse lets you text homeowners in the neighborhoods you want to target, either before your reps knock on their doors or instead of knocking at all.

This helps your team in three ways:

  1. You can reach far more homeowners than your reps can visit. A single campaign can reach an entire neighborhood in minutes, including homeowners who weren't home when a rep came by and neighborhoods your reps can't canvass.

  2. Your reps knock on warmer doors. When a rep visits a home that's already received your text, the homeowner has heard of your business. Mentioning nearby work in your message, like a recent treatment down the street, gives homeowners a local reason to trust you.

  3. You can find interested homeowners first. Instead of knocking every door to find the few who want service, you can text a neighborhood and see who responds. Your team can then follow up with homeowners who have already raised their hand.

Pest control companies we've worked with have seen strong results from GlassHouse. For example:

  • A Mosquito Authority franchise in Northwest Indiana generated $102K in recurring revenue in about three months on a $15K spend with GlassHouse.

  • A Mosquito Joe franchise in Peabody spent $6,900 with GlassHouse and got 144 leads and 136 booked appointments. That's $47 per lead and $50 per appointment.

How GlassHouse works

When you sign up with GlassHouse, our team can run your outbound campaigns for you, or you can set them up yourself. We designed the software to be easy to use: if you can spend an hour or two a week managing your campaigns, you're likely to see positive results.

To start, choose where to prospect. You can draw a shape around the neighborhoods or streets you want to target. For example, if you recently treated a home for cockroaches, you can target the homes around it with your next text campaign.

GlassHouse Location Types and Property Filters

Next, choose who to target. You can filter by home value, home size, home age, lot size, and last sale date to focus on the homeowners that best fit your services. A mosquito company, for example, might prioritize larger lots with more outdoor space. Filtering first means your campaigns, and later your reps, focus on homes that are a good fit.

Then build and launch your campaign.

Edit Template: Create templates to use when sending text messages or emails

You can start from our message templates for home service businesses, and our customer success team helps write your first campaigns. You can also write your own messages. If you recently treated a home in the neighborhood, for example, you can mention that in your text, so homeowners know you’re already working nearby.

Positive replies show up in your sales dashboard, where you can manage the conversation and track its status. Your team can respond directly, or Ask Jackie, our AI autoresponder, can carry the conversation to a booked appointment. From there, you can send reps to homeowners who replied.

GlassHouse can also help you re-engage past customers. If you use FieldRoutes or Jobber, GlassHouse can sync your customer list automatically, so you can run seasonal reactivation campaigns for recurring services like pest and mosquito treatments.
